The Bear Creek Equestrian Greenway. has long been a fun place to ride locally with out having to haul up to the mountains. You can warm up your horse during open riding at the Expo and head out on the trails for a nice 2 hour ride. Lately the trails are a little over grown and we have to compete with the bicyclists for space on the trails. We can always use more horse people at our meetings to help keep the trails from being "borrowed" for use by other groups. There are 15 miles of trails and horses are allowed on 4 miles...We need to get our 11 miles back. The ROGUE VALLEY EQUESTRIAN TRAILS ASSN promotes the care and concern of our Rogue Valley trails..To insure the right to ride our horses and preserve the trail system. If you can help out, join us at our next meeting in Medford. For more info call us at 826-5005 There is another group that wants to convert the Expo Ponds into a lovely park. They have designed a park which does not make good choices for the horse people. The horses have been "shoved" over to the side. This group is well meaning but needs more horse input. Horse people have been invited to their next meeting. You can see their plans at www.drpinc.org Come join us and help make this a nice park for people and horses to enjoy.
